...the past week.

(to all my friends and family and in-laws who i texted during the week about the different goings on, i didnt wanna tell every nitty gritty thru text coz medjo i was in some kinda panic, so heres the story...)
as continuation to my previous blog...Alyssa did get UTI, bad still but at least we got the lesser evil...we braced ourselves for the worse...dengue, which has become an epidemic now around Cebu. So it was antibiotics, missing school for two days and even got as far as getting her a complete blood count. imagine a 3-year-old getting a CBC. we didnt tell her whahat was gonna prick her or that she was even gonna get pricked. joel just held her on his lap and she had noticed that 2 nurses had crowded around her and next thing she knew her arm was stinging. she wailed "I DONT WANNA GET A SHOT MOMMY!!!" and cried and cried. poor babe. 3 days into the antibiotics and her fever getting better... I come down with a very bad, terrible ashtma attack. on the nebulizer every 4 hours. Good thing I have very good help at the house who took over taking care of Alyssa. the 5 minute trip to alyssa's school become 20 minutes for me coz i needed to take it easy even while walking. I wasnt able to make it walking from Rustans to Starbucks in Ayala. Ganyan ka tindi ang ashtma ko. hehehe. 5 more days with alyssa's antibiotics and Im into my 4th day of nebulizer...ava gets a cold one morning, starts coughing badly in the evening so I put her on the nebulizer as well just to calm her lungs but i already was having a very bad feeling about that cough. Joel couldnt go back to sleep and first thing morning we called the pedia to inform her we were coming in. But she had a procedure so we called pedia #2. But by lunch time Ava was just limp and looked weak on our helper's shoulder, refusing to smile and close-open her fist and too tired to lift her head. One look at her stomach and i knew her breathing was already labored. I tried to prop her up to sit but she just slumped forward. Good thing i was dressed for "anything" already but wasnt sure if i had money in my pocket. Maribel (our trusty helper) came running after me with my bag. I literally stumbled running from house to look for a taxi (Joel was at work) and rushed Ava (who by now was just limp on my arms and sweaty)` to the emergency room of CHH. without much ado, they put her on nebulizer and no question about it she had to be admitted to the hospital. Gaaawd imagine a 7-month old baby inserted with I.V. JOel came and to top it off there was no other room available except for the 3000 per night. YIKES!!! so calling for help i go! luckily a cousin doctor was able to cut thru the red tape and found a much affordable room for us at the same hospital. NOt on the pedia wing though (we were able to transfer the next day). imagine ava's discomfort with all the stingy antibiotics injected to the tube. 11pm I went home to check on alyssa while Joel stayed with Ava. I washed up, had dinner, packed and by 1am went back to the hospital to Ava and Joel goes home to sleep with Alyssa. every 5 in the afternoon Joel goes to the hospital and i go home to Alyssa. But the very next day Joel comes down with high fever and stomach ache and had to rest 2 full days...oh, my ashtma?Gone. as soon as I rushed Ava to the hospital. Joel had to take a break from work the past week. Yesterday was a frenzy. 6.45am took joel to the lab for the last tests, 7.45 took Alyssa to school and went back to JOel at CHH, 10.30AM back to Alyssa then home and took Ava to the pedia for the follow up check up. ALL'S WELL NOW...struggling but not miserable. happy struggling. Ava's up and about, Alyssas back to her old perky self and Joel will go back to work Monday. Me? HAPPY. God bless my family. Thank you mother Marie Eugenie.
