...Havaianas...Schuvaianas..!!!

***pairs. Havaianas, schuvaianas...This is my story. December 2006, I went to a mall at 10 in the morning to avoid the whole shebang of crowd, get what I went there for and come back to the house. Im not just used to putting Alyssa under the care of anybody else actually. I was on my way to Rustans (not being hooty here but it's just the place to go to avoid the crowds around here hehehe) and what do I see? A long line of women...mamas, yuppies, tweenies, even a 9-year-old. I figured there was a celeb or something in that store. But it was only 10;15 am, what celeb could be up and in the mall at that time of the day? hehehe. The line went around a 2 corners, TWO!!! So because I was a concerned bystander, ehem...curious actually, I walked along the line hoping to catch whatever or whoever they were lining up for. Didnt see anybody. I didnt wanna be caught naman na pasilip silip no...so I went about my merry way only to see more women and girls running past me towards that store. So para not so halata, I slowed down, hoping to catch info what the fuss was all about. Curiousity got the best of me, I actually stopped. (shax) And stop, I did. I heard one say "naa na! Display na the 2007!" (It's here, 2007 now displayed). Under normal circumstances, that would have meant alot of things for me, or meant nothing actually. But to the trained professional such as myself, I knew right away that the HAVAIANAS 2007 EDITION NEW STOCKS ARE ON DISPLAY NOW! Geez!!! Wha-- . That was what the long line and stampede was all about??? Wha-- who are these people??? Dont they have anything better to do at 10 on a Monday morning??? Naturally, I made a u-turn. ***pairs at home. I figured I could use 1 or 2 more. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Dhang! So u-turn I did make. Yoda ba?...anyway anyway, ...I semi walked and power walked back to that store but I made sure I was just a bit slower than the next girl para naman hindi masyadong halata. Finally I was there and blah blah blah, I couldnt get in anymore coz dapat nga mag line eh. Mannnn! So there, pokerface is me switch on, okay, fine. Later. So went to Rustans, got the stuff I needed and went back to the havies 2 hours later. Ha! Wala no people, my turn! Cash in hand and ready to spend!!! hahahahahaha! ill just tell Joel later it was essential that I have new pair. did I just say no people? BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT!!! NADA! NO MORE! Goodbye! The whole rack was empty. I would just have purchased my pairs at the R but they didnt have the new stocks yet. 2 hours...every pair sold out. i remember the time when they still called it slippers...thongs...tsinelas. the price could pay for food for the homeless people. ehem, may lightning strike me now. hahahahaha!!! i used to have a friend who swore never to buy a friend coz blah blah blah the economy nga , waste of money, slippers, tsinelas...she has 2 pairs with that limited edition silver flag now. I get my pairs from a cousin in Bacolod pa ha. Like they have these superduper designs which Cebu dont sell. Why? I really wouldnt know. What to do with ***pairs? Ive sold a couple of them na. Havaianas, schuvaianas...but gotta admit it's really comfy. And im waiting for my 2 pairs from Bacolod. Hate me if you want but I still wear sandals or shoes when I go to the mall, or church or coffeeshops. Wala lang, am just not comfy wearing tsinelas outside the house or aside from the beach. Havaianas, schuvaianas,...it is afterall, flip-flops. Translation, tsinelas. (haayyy -stretch- its now the 3rd week of January, 2nd batch of the 2007 edition will be coming out).
