okaaay, for starters, hurray to me for being able to insert an image on my blog! harhar harhar!!! ehem, here goes...wh-what were we talking about? summit or something of some sort? oooohhh...yeah, the whole of Cebu was ecstatic about the Asean Summit being in the city. Finally, global kami! Revenues! ka-ching ka-ching! $$$ guaranteed! Everyone got busy, Cebu Intl Convention Center (CICC), city streets being repaired (about time no!), expensive ameneties cropping up on the streetsof Cebu...and according to Alyssa,"Lights...lotsa lotsa lights mommy!" Oh yeah, the christmas stars were HUGE!!! biggest christmas tree ever!!! Then the re-routing of the traffic, closing of major roads and suspension of classes for 4 days! yippeyayeyyyyy!!! ...for the suspension of classes that is. Ooooooohh..feeling the summit thingy whenever mock convoys have dry runs! They sometimes dont close the road, they just speed down a major street with all them blaring and flashing red sirens and policemen on motorcycles and new BMWs...ON THE WRONG LANE GOING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!!! EVen I lion-hearted soul jumped at the sight! Dont get me wrong, the summit was good for the economy and such and such etc etc blah blah blah. Hey, it was good. It was good. All those very important stuff discussed and papers signed, naks! Great photo ops! Believe me, it was good. But let's rewind...Cebu was in such a high spirit during the days prior to the summit in December. Sources say those street lamps cost $$$ a peice! But whatta sight ha? Like, it's so cool!!! Most especially in our area where there are 2 major hotels. Then the official openning of the CICC in mandaue recla area. We could hear the fireworks in Lahug. Malayo. Youll know companies really paid big money for them xmas decors...Cebu was (still is actually) like one big super duper extravangly decored mall! Classy! Then 2 days before the opening of the summit they announced it was gonna be postponed on January. Okaaaay. Coz of a typhoon or something. what ev--! If they've told us it was coz of a grave terrorist attack threat, everything would have made sense. But nothing we could do about it. Take a deep breath and let it flowwwwwww...(exhales). Anywayz...and so it was, postponed. The thousands of policemen and women from all over the country will have to stay for one more month. I heard that them super major hotels had to call each and every client who has reserved for the that time in January to inform them they'd have to cancel their trip. Agghh. Coz the hotels were like on a total "lock down" for the summit. Only delegates will occupy the whole hotel. bummer ha? big companies have already made arrangements (and paid for) with some apartels and small hotels near their offices to house all their employees during the summit coz communiting around Cebu would be difficult. Difficult is the understatement of the year! Like, when Salinas Drive going to SM road closes, the superduper major vein road here is closed, the whole of downtown stands still. But things just had to be that way. Then I heard that the families of the delegates were complaining that the night life of Cebu is dead. Knock knock! Who's there? Lock down. Lock down as in the rest of humanity is not allowed to go into your hotelsssss!!! whew!...(calms down). yun. Asean Summit came and went without a hitch. Peaceful, thank goodness! Well, except for the bombings in Gensan, poor souls. Back to normal here? NO WAY!!! We are celebrating S-I-N-U-L-O-G WEEK!!! BOOM TARAT-TARAT!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA PIT SENYOR! PIT SENYOR! SINULOG E SYAGIT UG KUSOG, PIT SENYOR PIT SENyor ISHAGIT UG KUSOG!!! Alrytzzzzzzzzzzz!!! Spell P-A-R-T-E-Y!!! we're gonna have a party! hay, hmmm...tamad na ko mag type. And Alyssa's gonna wake up na in a minute. She'll be 3 on the 31st! wow...thank God for the cold weather the past 2 months. oi...it's Joel's and mine birthday pala today. Happy birthday to us! we just turned 29. hahahahahahar!!! Thanks to all our friends and families who greeted us!and by the way, the lock down of hotels were due to security reasons. Peace.
